Wife dead, husband hospitalized after shooting outside W. Harris County home, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A wife is dead and her husband is in critical condition after a domestic violence-related shooting in west Harris County on Friday afternoon, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Precinct 5 deputies responded to the shooting outside the couple's home in the 7400 block of Casuna Lane. Upon arrival, deputies found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds at an intersection, authorities said.

Based on preliminary information, deputies say that it appears the husband shot his spouse multiple times before turning the gun on himself.

According to the sheriff, the couple has three children, ages 4, 11, and 13, who were at school at the time of the incident.

Deputies say the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the man is critically injured.

An investigation remains ongoing.
